Carnaval!

Yesterday was my first photo gig for the new Bay Citizen, shooting the Carnaval parade in the Mission District.

You really couldn’t have asked for worse lighting conditions, with a bright sunny day, and the parade coming out of the sun down 24th Street, which is already a difficult street to shoot on.

It’s interesting sometimes to look at the shots that don’t make it into the final edit. There’s something about the shot above that I really like, but I didn’t think it was really the type of shot that would go into the final slideshow. Maybe I’ll post more in the coming days.
