It’s been a good way to get back into the groove of shooting video, and while they’re still a bit shaky, I think they’re getting better with each one. Also, pretty sure this is the first time I’ve ever used a screencap from a vid as a “photo.” That 5D does pretty nice, huh?

This one, on the BlackBerry Bold 9900 4G smartphone, is my favorite so far. Check out the full post on the Tech Blog.

Most people were like “why Merced?”

I’ve had this strange fascination with the Central Valley for a long time, and got to travel there a bit last year during News21. Still, there’s something about it, maybe because it’s like the antithesis of the city, that keeps pulling me back. So I went to go visit a friend who works at the Merced Sun-Star.

Local band Homebrew played at The Partisan, a bar downtown with hella cheap and strong drinks.

Which is really all you need, right?

It’s also hella dark in there, so I got to crank up the ISO on the 5D to 11, no, 25,600. The results are…interesting.
